Water treatment plants add chlorine to water as a disinfectant. While chlorine is essential for destroying bacteria, it is merciless to the skin. As a strong oxidizer, it destroys the skin's natural protective layer, the hydrolipidic film. This film, consisting of fat and sweat, protects the skin from drying out and from external irritants. Can vitamin C irritate sensitive skin?
Quite the opposite. The vitamin C (ascorbic acid) used in our showers is a natural substance whose primary function is to neutralize chlorine – a known skin dehydrator. That's precisely why a vitamin C shower is often an excellent aid for sensitive, dry, and atopic skin.
Does the shower filter remove all lime from the water?
